TESS IT'S FOR A -- IT'S FOR A CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS AT 1234 GRAND AVENUE. THIS PROPERTY IS CONSIDERED THE PRESLEY ANDERSON HOUSE. IT WAS BUILT IN 1945.

THE ARCHITECT IS UNKNOWN. IT IS A 1 1/2 STORY COLONIAL REVIVAL. IT'S CHARACTERIZED BY THREE BAY AND HIGHLIGHTED BY THREE GABLED DORMERS.

THE THREE BAY IS THE SEPARATION BETWEEN THE ARCHITECTURAL CHARACTERISTICS OF IT. YOU CAN KIND OF SEE THERE'S A SEPARATION BETWEEN THE FACADE. IT HAS A FULL-SPAN PORCH ALONG THE FRONT OF IT. AND IT ALSO HAS A DETACHED GARAGE, THAT WAS BUILT IN 1947. AT THE TIME OF HISTORIC OVERLAY, IN 2015, ORDINANCE NUMBER 36-2015 THEY CONSIDERED THE GARAGE AND THE HOUSE TO BE HISTORIC, RELEVANT TO THE PROPERTY. THE APPLICANT IS REQUESTING A CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS TO ENCLOSE AN 18X14 PORCH, LOCATED IN THE REAR OF THE SUBJECT PROPERTY.

THIS IS THE SUBJECT PROPERTY HIGHLIGHTED AND STRIPED IN YELLOW. YOU CAN SEE THE GARAGE AT THE NORTHWESTERN CORNER, ALSO A LITTLE CARPORT IN THE FRONT.

THE CARPORT IS NOT CONSIDERED HISTORICALLY CONTRIBUTING, BUT THE ENTIRE PROPERTY HAS HISTORIC OVERLAY.

THIS IS JUST A ZONING MAP INDICATING THAT IS A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD. AND HERE IS THE PORCH THAT'S ALREADY BEEN CONSTRUCTED AT THE BACK OF THE PROPERTY.

THEY WANT TO EXPAND THIS. THE PORCH IS ACTUALLY ROUGHLY 14X15 FEET. BUT THEY'RE GOING TO EXTEND THE PORCH AN ADDITIONAL 3 FEET TO BE 18X14 AND BUILD IT UP.

SHE WANTS TO KEEP ALL THE BUILDING MATERIALS VERY SIMILAR.

SHE CAN'T USE THE EXACT SIDING. THIS IS THE PROPOSED SIDING.

AND THE REASON FOR THIS IS BECAUSE THE CURRENT SIDING HAS ASBESTOS WITHIN IT. SO THIS IS AS CLOSE AS SHE CAN GET IT. SHE WANTS TO USE DOUBLE-HUNG WINDOWS, SIMILAR TO THE WINDOWS THAT YOU SEE WITHIN THE PROPERTY. AND SHE WANTS TO USE HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT DOOR TO IT.

THIS RESIDENCE WAS BUILT IN 1926.

WE COULD NOT FIND ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THE ARCHITECT.

IT IS ALL FRAMED, SUPPORTED AS IN THIS FOUNDATION.

YOU CAN SEE THAT IT IS A RED BRICK EXTERIOR.

THE FRONT FACADE HAS A PORTICO AND SQUARED COLUMNS, THAT WERE PAINTED WHITE. THERE'S AN ATTACHED CARPORT ADJACENT TO THE RIGHT-OF-WAY OF SOUTH 7TH STREET.

AND THERE'S ALSO A DETACHED ACCESSORY BUILDING, WHICH IS UTILIZED AS A GARAGE. BOTH OF WHICH APPEAR TO BE CONSTRUCTED AT A LATER DATE. BUT BOTH ARE HISTORICALLY APPROPRIATE FOR -- IN CONSIDERATION FOR THE RESIDENCE.

THERE'S ALSO AN ACCESSORY STORAGE STRUCTURE AND A SWIMMING POOL, LOCATED IN THE REAR OF THE PROPERTY.

BOTH OF WHICH WE CONSIDER AS NONCONTRIBUTING TO THE HISTORIC CHARACTER OF THE SITE. WHAT THEY'RE CONSIDERING ISED A HISTORIC OVERLAY TO THE SITE. THIS IS THE SUBJECT PROPERTY HIGHLIGHTED AND STRIPED IN YELLOW.

NOT SURE IF THERE WAS EVER AN ADDITION TO THIS HOUSE OR IF THEY ACTUALLY HAD TO DO SOME TYPE OF WORK.

NOT SURE IF THAT'S HISTORICALLY ACCURATE TO THE RESIDENCE, BUT IT'S DEFINITELY INTERESTING, ESPECIALLY WITH WEST TEXAS HAIL. ONE OF THE OTHER INTERESTING PARTS OF THIS WAS THAT THIS WAS -- THIS PROPERTY WAS ADDED TO THE CITY COUNCIL ADOPTED LIST OF HISTORIC PROP PROPERTIES FROM 1.

THIS WAS ADDED BACK IN 1999. 702 SAYLES DRIVE.

AND THEN I WAS ALSO ABLE TO FIND A NATIONAL PARKS SERVICE TEXAS COMMISSION DESIGNATED THE SALES DISTRICT AS A HISTORICAL DISTRICT. AND WE WERE ABLE TO FIND THAT 702 SAYLES DRIVE WAS ALSO A CONTRIBUTING PROPERTY WITHIN THAT. THIS IS NOT A LOCAL DESIGNATION.

THIS IS STRICTLY A NATIONAL DESIGNATION.

BUT IT IS DEFINITELY INTERESTING.

THIS WAS REVIEWED PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.2.4.4 OF THE LAND
