THE LOCAL ELECTIONS, NEVER TO GET THE COMPLETE DEAL BUT I KNOW MONDAY HE WILL BE CANVASSING IT, SO IF YOU WANT TO TUNE IN MONDAY OR, TO THE COUNCIL MEETING THEY WILL HAVE IT IN KHAMIS MONDAY THE 21ST FOR OUR LOCAL ELECTIONS.

AND ON A HAPPY NOTE, SINCE WE MET, WE DID ACHIEVE ANOTHER WORLD VICTORY AT THE HOUSTON ASTROS. WAS A LITTLE WORRIED ABOUT THE METRO FIRST FOR A WHILE BUT WE DID PULL THROUGH.

AND ATTENDED MY FIRST CITY COUNCIL MEETING IN DECEMBER OF LAST YEAR AND I KNEW I NEEDED TO OBSERVE AND WATCH BEFORE I STARTED JUMPING IN AND SPEAKING ABOUT THINGS THAT MATTER TO ME SO I SHOWED UP. I TRIED TO UNDERSTAND HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS. I TRY TO UNDERSTAND HOW THIS METHOD COULD BE A PART OF SOLVING PROBLEMS RATHER THAN SITTING BACK AND COMPLAINING ABOUT WHAT WASN'T WORKING.

I FOUND THERE WASN'T A LOT OF INFORMATION OUT THERE TO HELPED ME. I DIDN'T HAVE ANY PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH ANY OF YOU BUT I DIDN'T GIVE UP CHAIRS AND WELL READ SO I'M APPARENTLY NOT YOUR TYPICAL PUBLIC COMMENTER WHO WAS 100 MILES WIDE AND ONLY IF THAT DATE. IT'S SO DISHEARTENING AS A PERSON LIKE ME HAS BEEN ACTIVELY TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO BECOME A BETTER PARTICIPANT IN THE CITY TO HEAR COUNCILMAN TALKING ABOUT FAITH AND POLITICS ON A TOPIC OF TREATING PEOPLE WITH KINDNESS ALL THE WHILE MISCHARACTERIZING AND BELITTLING SOME OF THE MOST EVOLVED CITIZENS IN OUR COMMUNITY.

THOSE COMMENTS WHETHER INTENTIONAL OR NOT FURTHER INTIMIDATE THE PUBLIC FOR DOING OUR PART AND PROCESS.

IF YOU THINK PUBLIC COMMENTER'S ARE UNINFORMED WHAT CAN YOU TAKE THAT AS AN OPPORTUNITY TO BRING EDUCATION AND AWARENESS TO YOUR CONSTITUENTS. I IMAGINE THIS IS A DANGEROUS ASPECT OF GENERALIZING PEOPLE. CITIZENS SHOULD BE HONORED FOR TRYING INSTEAD OF ADDRESSING THOSE -- INSTEAD OF CONDEMNING THEM OR CRITICIZING THEM.
