WE DID SEE A DROP IN DECEMBER, THINKING BACK TO THE DECEMBER REPORT THAT WE GAVE YOU LAST MONTH IN ENPLANEMENTS, WE ATTRIBUTE THAT DROP IN THE DROP IN THE FREQUENCY THAT WE HAD. BECAUSE IT WAS ALMOST A PERCENTAGE OF SEATS DROPPED AND A PERCENTAGE OF LOWER-LEVEL PASSENGERS. WE'LL TALK ABOUT OUR AIRFARES REPORT, BUT, GOING INTO THE REGULATORY AND LEGISLATIVE ISSUES UPDATE, SO, WE'RE WATCHING A FEW THINGS, THERE IS A SOMETHING THAT WE'VE BEEN WATCHING FOR AWHILE, WE BRIEFED THE BOARD ON IT MAY BE A YEAR AGO THAT WE ACTUALLY BRIEFED YOU GUYS ON THIS. IT WAS THE PFAS ISSUE. THE PFAS IS A CHEMICAL THAT'S IN THE FOAM THAT WE USE, THE FIRE-FIGHTING FOAM THAT WE USE, AIRCRAFT FIRE FIGHTING FOAM. BUT, ONE OF THE CHEMICAL COMPONENTS OF THAT IS POTENTIALLY CANCEROUS, SO, THE EPA HAS BEEN PUSHING THE FAA TO CHANGE THE TYPE OF CHEMICAL THAT WE USE FOR THIS. WE'VE HAD NO CHOICE IN THE MATTER. WE HAVE TO USE WHAT FAA APPROVES, AND THAT PFAS CONTAINING FOAM IS THE ONLY THING APPROVED FOR AIRCRAFT FIRE FIGHTING. HOWEVER, THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE HAS BEEN LEADING THE WAY IN RESEARCHING NEW TYPES OF FOAM, AND, LAST MONTH, THEY DID APPROVE A NEW FORMULA, AND SO, WE'RE WAITING ON WHEN THEY WILL BECOME COMME COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE FOR US TO PURCHASE. FAA STILL HAS TO SIGN OFF ON IT, BUT, I DON'T BELIEVE THAT WILL TAKE THAT LONG OF A PERIOD FOR THEM TO SIGN OFF ON IT. IT'S A FLUID SITUATION. IT IS ONE OF THE REASONS WHY WE THOUGHT, BECAUSE, WE HAD PROGRAMMED THIS FIZZICAL YEAR TO PURCHASE A NEW AIRCRAFT RESCUE FIRE-FIGHTING TRUCK TO REPLACE ONE PURCHASE IN 2002 OR 2003. SO, WAS NOT TOO KEEN ON PURCHASING A TRUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF TRANSITION IN MAJOR COMPONENT

OF THAT TRUCK. IT WAS GOOD TO PUT THAT OFF AND PUT THAT MONEY TOWARDS THE TERMINAL PROJECT AND WE'LL BE ABLE TO PROGRAM THAT FIRE TRUCK INTO OUR FY 24 FUNDS OR FY25. WE'LL PLAY THAT BY EAR. FRANKLY, THREE MONTHS AGO, THEY WERE SAYING THE NAVY WERE THE ONES DOING THE RESEARCH DIRECTLY, THAT THEY WOULD HAVE A DETERMINATION ON THIS PARTICULAR FOAM FORMULA, BY THE END OF JANUARY, AND, BY GOLLY, THEY DID THAT. SO, SO, WE AS AN AIRPORT MANAGEMENT COMMUNITY DID NOT THINK THAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN, NECESSARILY, BUT, THEY CAME

SO, YOU PRETTY MUCH HAVE TO GO IN AND THERE ARE COMPANIES THAT GO IN AND CLEAN THAT STUFF, OR YOU JUST REPLACE ALL THE PLUMBING, ALL TOGETHER. SO, YES, IF WE WAIT UNTIL WE HAVE A NEW TRUCK TO ACCOMMODATE THE NEW MATERIAL, WE WON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THAT. WE WILL HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT IT WITH OUR EXISTING TRUCK THAT WE WILL KEEP.

USING THEIR BADGE. AND THIS IS ALL WITH THE INSIDER THREAT. AND THEY'RE GOING TO GET A LOT OF PUSH BACK FROM AIRPORTS AND US AS WELL. THAT'S NOT OUR JOB. IT IS TSAS JOB TO SCREEN PEOPLE ENTERING INTO THE STERILE AND SECURE AREA. AND THEY'RE TRYING TO PUSH THAT RESPONSIBILITY ONTO US AS AIRPORTS AND IT'S JUST WRONG. SO, WE WILL BE PUSHING BACK ON THAT. AGAIN, THEY ARE

THE PROBLEMS WILL ALWAYS BE THERE, PARTICULARLY AS YOU WORK AROUND SPACES THAT THE PUBLIC WILL OCCUPY. ALL THE PAINTS WILL BE DONE AT NIGHT. AND WE THOUGHT THAT WAS THE PROBLEM, AND IT WAS GOOD TO GO, AND IT TURNED OFF ON IT'S OWN AFTER OPERATING FOR LESS THAN TWO DAYS. IT TURNS OUT, THERE'S ANOTHER COMPONENT THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND THAT IS ON ORDER, AND THEN THE UP ESCALATOR HAS A PROBLEM, THAT'S THROWING OUT A CODE AND IT'S STOPPING.

THE COMPANY THAT'S WORKING ON THOSE WILL BE HERE ON FRIDAY TO REPLACE THE CHAIN AS THE COMB COMPONENT IN THE DOWN CHAIN.

HOPEFULLY, THE UP ESCALATOR WILL GET TO BE WORKING AT THAT POINT AS WELL. WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING TO GET RID OF ESCALATORS. AND, THAT IS, SOMETHING THAT THE, WE'LL TALK TALK ABOUT IT IN ITEM FIVE. IT DOES NOT POWER OUR HVAC SYSTEM, SO, TWO WINTERS AGO WHEN WE LOST POWER, WE WERE NOT ABLE TO HEAT THE TERMINAL. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO HAVE THE TERMINAL HEATED DURING THAT TIME AND ANY OTHER TIME THAT WE HAVE A POWER OUTAGE. BUT, WE WANT TO BE ABLE TO SUPPORT THE ENTIRE TERMINAL WITH THE GENERATOR. WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TO HAVE A FIRE SPRINKLE SYSTEM, THIS EXPANSION WILL TRIGGER THAT IN THE BUILDING CODES SO WE KNOW THAT WE HAVE TO DO THAT.

WE WON'T BE ABLE TO SAY THAT, BUT, WE COULD SAY IT'S 80% DESIGNED AND SHOULD BE READY TO BID BY THE TIME GRANT AWARDS ARE MADE NEXT FALL.

SO, THAT REALLY, IF YOU COULD TELL FAA THAT IN THE APPLICATION, YOU HAVE A VERY GOOD SHOT AT GETTING THE FUNDING. AND, WE'VE ALREADY, THIS IS ALREADY KIND OF BEEN VETTED THROUGH THE FAA, AIRPORT'S DISTRICT OFFICE.

WITH, THUMB'S UP. BUT, NO GUARANTY THAT YOU'RE GOING TO GET THE GRANT BUT THAT THE STAFF SUPPORTS IT. SO, WE WANT TO GET THIS UNDER DESIGN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. SO, THAT IS THE ASK
