WE HAVE KIDS WHO HAVE BROKEN ARMS BECAUSE THEY'VE SLED ON THE LOOSE GRAVEL WHILE THEY'RE OUT RIDING THEIR BIKES.

IT IS JUST BECOME VERY UNSAFE. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR ANYBODY TO PUT A CHILD IN A STROLLER AND PUSH THEM ALONG THE STREET, BECAUSE THE STREETS ARE SIMPLY TOO ROUGH. NOBODY WILL DO THAT.

NOW, THIS IS BECAUSE THIS NEIGHBORHOOD HAS BEEN NEGLECTED WITH REGARDS TO MAINTENANCE.

THE ONLY KNOWN MAINTENANCE DONE ON THIS PROPERTY OR ON THIS IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD SINCE ITS INCEPTION, WHICH HAD BEEN IN THE 70S, WAS ABOUT 1990. THERE WAS A JOB WHERE THEY DID TAR AND GRAVEL, WHICH WAS PLACED OUT HERE ON THE STREETS.

SINCE THEN IT HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT POTHOLE REPLACEMENT.

NOW I UNDERSTAND, AND I SPOKE IN OCTOBER OF 21.

I SPOKE WITH THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR, GREG MCCAFFREY, AND HE EXPLAINED THE PROCESS OF HOW THIS FUND WILL PAY FOR SMALLER PROJECTS RATHER THAN LARGER PROJECTS.

THE DECISION BEING MADE THAT IT'S BETTER TO USE THIS MONEY TO PAY FOR SMALLER, EASIER FIXES THAN MAJOR FIXES LIKE OUR NEIGHBORHOOD, AND OUR NEIGHBORHOOD IS A MAJOR FIX.

AND IF THAT'S TRUE, WE WILL NEVER GET FIXED BECAUSE THERE WILL ALWAYS BE SMALLER PROJECTS, EASIER FIXES THAN OURS. AND IF WE DON'T GET FIXED NOW, WHEN DO WE GET FIXED? THIS HAS BECOME A SAFETY HAZARD FOR OUR PEOPLE, AND OUR PEOPLE LIKE TO WALK THE NEIGHBORHOODS AND WE DON'T HAVE SIDEWALKS.

WE HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO WALK IN THE STREET. WE CAN'T WALK IN THE IN THE GUTTERS BECAUSE THERE'S TOO MUCH GRAVEL.

SO WE HAVE TO PEOPLE THAT ARE WALKING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREETS TO STAY SAFE.
