THE FIRST AGENDA ITEM, CA 20 2405, RECEIVE A REPORT, HOLD A DISCUSSION IN PUBLIC HEARING AND TAKE ACTION ON A REQUEST FOR CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS FOR THE FOLLOWING IMPROVEMENTS LOCATED AT 601 SALES BOULEVARD. REPLACE AND INSTALL RAIN GUTTERS ON THE MAIN RESIDENCE. INSTALL RAIN GUTTERS ON THE CARRIAGE HOUSE, INCLUDING SOFFIT REPAIRS. MORTAR REPAIR INCLUDING DEMOLISHING THE SMALL NORTH SIDE WALL AND REBUILDING IT EXACT. AND WE WILL HAVE OUR STAFF REPORT.

IT IS SUPPORTED BY SQUARE COLUMNS WITH CAPSTONES. IT INCLUDES A SOLID BALUSTRADE WITH CAST COPING. THE CARRIAGE IS ALSO LOOKING AT THE REAR OF THE PROPERTY. HERE, WE HAVE THE LOCATION MAP. AS WELL AS AN AERIAL MAP. AND WE HAVE THE ZONING MAP, THIS IS OWNED SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL AND IT DOES HAVE HISTORIC OVERLAY. WE ATTACHED IT HERE OUR PHOTOS OF THE SUBJECT PROPERTY. SECOND ROW. STAFF REVIEWED THIS PURSUANT TO THE SECRETARY OF THE INTERIOR'S STANDARDS FOR THE REHABILITATION OF HISTORIC BUILDINGS. STAFF RECOMMENDS APPROVAL. IF THE ITEM IS APPROVED BY THE LANDMARKS COMMISSION, THE LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE SECTION 2.3.4.4 REQUIRES THAT THE WORK APPROVED IN THE CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS SHALL COMMENCE WITHIN SIX MONTHS OF THE APPROVAL. IF WORK DOES NOT COMMENCE WITHIN SIX MONTHS, THE APPROVAL OF THE CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS SHALL EXPIRE AND THE APPLICATION MAY GET AN EXTENSION TO THE DEADLINE PROVIDED A REQUEST IS SUBMITTED AT LEAST 30 DAYS BEFORE THE CERTIFICATE EXPIRES. IT HAS A LOT OF CRACKS IN IT WHERE IT MEETS THE FOUNDATION THERE. IT MAY BE THAT THE WATER THAT'S COMING OFF THE CARRIAGE HOUSE ON THE BACK AND OF THE CARPORT AREA, AND GOES RIGHT TO THE POLLS AT THE BACK OF THE HOUSE. WE WANT TO DIVERT THAT WATER TO SEE IF IT DOESN'T MITIGATE THE EROSION THERE. AND YEAH. SO THERE IS NO RAIN GUTTERS IN THE CARRIAGE HOUSE.

SO YOU CAN'T REALLY TELL FROM THAT ANGLE, BUT THAT LAST LITTLE PART OF THE WALL THERE BY THE STEPS IS LEANING AWAY. IT IS STARTING TO BREAK APART.

AND SO, THE MAN WHO IS DOING THE MORTAR IS GOING TO COMPLETELY REBUILD IT WITH THE SAME BRICKS. GOING TO TRY TO MATCH THE MORTAR THAT IS ALREADY THERE, BECAUSE YOU CAN SEE THE OLDER PAIRS WITH THE GRAY MORTAR DOES NOT MATCH AT ALL. SO WE WILL GO AROUND AND CLEAN THAT UP AROUND THE WHOLE

I CAN PROBABLY SEE ABOUT GETTING AN ELEVATED TO COME UP TO THAT, BUT THEN WE STILL HAVE THE ISSUE. THAT WOULD BE REALLY HARD TO PRIORITIZE I THINK RIGHT NOW. THE RAIN GUTTERS AND THE DRAINAGE SEEMS TO BE THE FIRST STEP IN GIVING IT A COUPLE OF YEARS TO COME BACK AND LOOK AT THE CONCRETE, DRIVE-BY, SIDEWALKS AND STEPS,
