SO THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY SYSTEM IS THE RURAL AND URBAN ROADWAYS THAT STRATEGICALLY IMPORTANT FOR THE NATION'S ECONOMY DEFENSE AND MOBILITY AND SO WHEN IT WAS ORIGINALLY CREATED THERE WAS 160,000 CENTERLINE MILES OF ROAD. IN 2020 AS PART OF THE MOVEMENT AHEAD FOR PROGRESS IN THE 21ST CENTURY ACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY SYSTEM EXPANDED TO INCLUDE ALL URBAN AND PRINCIPAL ARTERIALS.

THIS ADDED ADDITIONAL 65 MILES. LAST YEAR TXDOT FIRST ATTEMPT OF ROADWAYS. THEY MADE SOME EVALUATIONS AND THINGS. ON JUNE 18TH 2019 THE POLICY BOARD MADE RECOMMENDATION ON THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY SYSTEM THE TXDOT PRESENTED AS THE MAP AT THE MEETING.

ON JULY 6TH THEY SUBMITTED INFORMATION BACK TO MPO AND ASK THE POLICY BOARD REVIEW THE PREVIOUS RECOMMENDATION VIA BOARD RESOLUTION BEFORE SEPTEMBER OF 2020.

THE ACTION REQUESTED REVIEW THE DOCUMENTS IN IT APPROPRIATE FOR CHANGES TO NATIONAL HIGHWAY SYSTEM BY RESOLUTION.

THE ONE ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE SCREEN THIS IS THE ONE THAT BEING RECOMMENDED BY TXDOT TO APPROVE AND THIS JUST BASICALLY TAKES THE BOARD FROM SOUTH 27 AND REMOVES IT FROM THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY SYSTEM AND DOWNGRADES FROM PRINCIPLE ARTERIAL OTHER TO MINOR ARTERIAL. THE RESOLUTION THAT YOU SEE ON THE RIGHT MORE CLOSELY MATCHES THE ACTION TAKEN LAST YEAR BY THE POLICY BOARD. AND SO YOU WILL SEE THAT THE FUNCTIONAL CLASSIFICATION FOR SALES IS ON THERE.

HOW THEY CHANGE WITH DIFFERENT INFRASTRUCTURE AND CALCULATION OF THE PERFORMANCE MEASURES. WHAT THE AMOUNT OF VEHICLE MILE TRAVELED AND GIVING YEAR. WITH THE TOTAL NUMBER OF HOURS.

WE COMPLETED THE MOD VALIDATION. WE TURNED TO DEVELOPMENT OF THE FORECAST INPUT AND RUNNING THE MODEL TO CREATE 2020-2045 FORECAST. IT SAYS WE'RE WRAPPING UP THE DOCUMENTATION AND CONDUCTING TRAINING WITH THE MPO LAST WEEK ON MORE WHAT'S THE MODEL. A FEW OF THOSE DATA ELEMENTS -- IT'S BROKEN BY TYPE. THIS LOOKING AT TRAVELLING SOUTHBOUND ON 83 WITH THAT CLOSED IT'S GOING OVER TO 20 AND HAVING TO LOOP BACK AROUND AND COME BACK TO 83 TO GO SOUTH. NEXT SLIDE.

HOWEVER THE JONES COUNTY FOR THAT PORTION OF THE MODEL AREA THAT IS LACKING AS FAR AS BEING ABLE TO REACH HOUSEHOLDS WITHIN FIVE MINUTES FROM A FIRE STATION.

ONE ORASPECT WE BROUGHT INTO THIS LOOKING NOT JUST THE COVERAGE AREA BUT HOW MANY HOUSEHOLDS ARE WE COVERING.
